Real Incident on which Bhakshak Movie based on

One such real life incident was held in Muzaffarpur Shelter Home in 2018. This case involved the systematic sexual abuse of 34 girls at a shelter home in Muzaffarpur, Bihar. When this horrific incident sparked national outrage then 44 girls were examined in which 34 were found to be assaulted and led to calls for stricter regulations and protection measures for vulnerable children.

Another case happened in Deoria Shelter Home, U.P. in 2017. Similar to the Muzaffarpur case, after exploring this scandal involved abusing girls at a shelter home in Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. After the medical examination was done, 11 girls were identified as victims, and many shelter employees were arrested at that time.

One more notable case happened in Jhansi Shelter Home in 2017. Another shocking case in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, in which 56 girls were found as victims. Shelter home’s superintendent and other staff members were arrested.

Bhakshak showcases the hurdles that came in the way of investigative journalists at that time. The struggle to uncover the truth and bring justice to the victims. Though this movie is not directly mirroring any particular such horrific incident, it highlights the overall corruption, power imbalances, and societal apathy that often allow such abuses to occur.

Bhakshak aims to unveil these dark realities and to attract the concern about child protection and accountability. So that these sorts of cases could not happen again.
