Indian performance at Birmingham Commonwealth games
The world is witness that India won 61 medals in Commonwealth Games Birmingham which was just few less than its own previous record of grabbing 66 medals in 2018 Commonwealth games. To be noted that one of the India’s strongest game was not included at Birmingham CWG that is shooting and in 2018 India won 16 medals out of 66 in shooting itself which is quite a big number.
So if we conclude, considering the shooting game non participation in Birmingham then India’s performance has uprised to gain 61 medals (without shooting game) which is a good number in comparison to 66 medals in 2018. As if shooting game would had included in 2020 CWG games then the number of medals secured by India would have more.
Performance of Indian athletes
In 2010 CWG India secured 101 medals, repeated in 2012 London Olympics by securing 6 medals out of which two were bold and four were silver medals, and in Tokyo 2020 Olympics India grabbed seven medals. In 2022 Birmingham Olympics if shooting would have included then the record of Indian medals would have given a strong compete by it’s own record of 2010 Commonwealth Games.
Indian athletes at Paris 2024 Olympics
Well, the competition is gonna extreme high in Paris 2024 Olympics and the athletes have to practice to improve all their weaknesses by course. As hangover Asian Games postponed to 2023 so they have lots of time for the practice 2024 Olympics.
Although the list of participating countries and athletes have been made for 2024 Olympics but India yet to qualify for Paris 2024. As India’s name is no where in that list as of now. This is a big question mark to our government for the economic support, facilities and the aid they provide to prepare athletes for Olympics. And moreover how the youth is being encouraged in India to participate and to compete for international games. There are some steps taken by our government towards this. Let’s discuss what are these:
government facilities to athletes for 2024 Paris Olympics
This is the understood fact that if the athletes would have given proper guidance equipments, fundamental infrastructure, financial support and encouragement than India will definitely win uncountable numbers of medals in upcoming International games whether in Olympic games, Commonwealth games, Asian games or in any other Such platform.
Indian government now taken it seriously and 143 khelo India district centres have been established in 7 different states by MYAS (Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports). And meas to kit at the state level as well by launching 8 KISCE (Khelo India State Centres of Excellence). Through these organisations India now and carrizine youth and giving them training facility with proper guidance and financial support to prepare for Olympic games.
These organisations run by State Governments and due to the lacking of infrastructure and equipments khelo India organisation is continuously approving the huge amount for improvement, execution and to empower it to the world class level so that Indian flag could fly high at every international games.
8 KISCE (Khelo India State Centres of Excellence) States
- Mizoram
- Karnataka
- Kerala
- Manipur
- Arunachal Pradesh
- Orissa
- Telangana
- Manipur
Khelo India sanctioned Rupees 890.42 crores in 2020 for athletes where as it was Rupees 500 crores in 2019 and Rupees 343.24 crores in the year of 2018. However this step is good but too late and too much to do. As the world have gone so far and we just started even to making efforts and encouraging our youth and empowering them by financial sport for hastle free practice.
You can just infer it from this that India is not mentioned in the list of participating countries at 2024 Paris Olympics. Their should be proper transparency in this organization so that corruption can be away from it and the deployment of facilities Infrastructures provided by the government reach to the end receiver. There should be no nepotism or politics get involved so that the right candidate can come forward to represent India.
India has lot of hidden talent, if we follow the right approach then in the coming next few years India would be the rising star at every International game’s platform by claiming highest numbers of medals. But as of now to prepare and to participate in Paris 2024 Olympics Indian athletes have to qualify to put their name in the list of participating athletes. For this National Olympic Committee (NOC) also having its major role.
