Sumit Sattawan Early Life and Education
Sumit was born on February 10, 1987 in Rajasthan to a lower middle class family. He was a studious child since his childhood. He completed his primary education in a government in Rajasthan district.
After completing the primary education Sumit his B.Tech from IIT, Kanpur in 2005-2009. Though he can accept the offers from various organizations after completing the Bachelor’s degree in engineering, but he wanted to become an Indian Administrative Service officer. Sumit moved to Delhi and took the admission in a coaching institute and started preparing for UPSC and qualified in the fourth attempt.
Career
Sumit Passed UPSC civil services examination in 2015 and became an IAS officer of batch 2015. He appointed as a Junior Assistant Secretary on July 3, 2017 in the Ministry of Culture and served there for 2 months till September 29, 2017.
He was privileged to get an opportunity to become a Deputy Commissioner pf Barpeta district after getting promoted on October 12, 2017.
He became an SDM of Tinsukia district of Assam on February 12, 2018 and served as a General Administrator. After that he became an Additional Deputy Commissioner of Tinsukia, Assam.
Now he has been taken the charge of Kamrup District, Assam on November 30, 2023 in the replacement of Pallav Gopal Jha, after resuffling of IAS officers by the government.
